Undiscovered parts of Cappadocia

First we will step by Derinkuyu Underground City. It’s thought that the Derinkuyu Underground City was started by the Phrygians, an Indo-European people, in the 8th to 7th centuries BCE. After the population became Christian in Roman times, they began to include chapels in their underground dwellings.

After Derinkuyu we will drive through Gümüşler Monastry. We will arrive there around 12:00. The monastery is carved out of a large rock and is one of the best preserved and largest of its kind in the Cappadocia region.
